Certification For Regulated Child Care Summer Employment - Post Secondary Students

Are you a post-secondary student? Are you looking for summer employment that’s fun, rewarding and something new everyday?

If so … working in a child care centre may be the job for you!

Our post-secondary students condensed course is now offered online. The course once completed will give post-secondary students a temporary non-renewable Entry Level Child Care Services Certification for Preschool and School-Age classifications which will expire the Friday after Labour Day (September 8th, 2017).

Completion of the course does not guarantee employment in the field – participant is responsible for applying to child care centres for employment.

To register the Post-Secondary Education Student needs to print, complete and submit the 2017 PS Student Condensed Course application form and attach photocopied documentation that identifies them as a student (acceptance letter from Post-Secondary Institution or a student ID card) and send the originals to the AECENL office. For post-secondary students completing the course for temporary certification there is no fee. Once the completed application form and student documentation is received by the AECENL office a username and password would be sent to the individual so that they can access and complete their course. Upon completion an online PD certificate is issued to the individual . The PD certificate issued at the end of the course is not the students temporary entry level certification, they still need to apply for it. Once the online course is completed the individual would then e-mail the PD certificate to the Registrar and then the Registrar would complete the assessment process to have the temporary certification issued.

Please contact the Registrar at (709) 579-3004 (toll-free 866.579.3004) or at aecenl@nfld.net on how to register.
