If you are a post-secondary student looking for summer employment that is fun, rewarding and something new every day then working in a regulated child care centre may be the job for you!
Association of Early Childhood Educators – Newfoundland and Labrador (AECENL) offers free post-secondary student condensed course to obtain a temporary non-renewable Child Care Centre - Trainee Level - Preschool and School-Age Certification upon successful completion of the course. Certification expires the Friday after Labour Day.
Post-secondary student condensed course is offered online and available each year mid-April until mid-August.
Completion of the course and obtaining the non-renewable certification does not guarantee employment in the field – participant is responsible for applying to child care centres for employment.
How to register:
Print, complete and submit the current student condensed course application form and attach photocopy of a post-secondary student documentation (acceptance letter from post-secondary institution or a student ID card) by email, mail, courier or in person to AECENL office.
When emailing your application and documentation:
Please note that the PL certificate issued at the end of the course is not the certificate for temporary non-renewable trainee level certification. Steps on how to obtain the temporary certification are directly communicated with the applicant via email.
For any additional information or questions please contact the Registrar at (709) 579-3004 (toll-free 1-866-579-3004) or at registrar@aecenl.ca
