Temporary Certification for Regulated Child Care Summer Employment for Post-Secondary Students
The Association of Early Childhood Educators of Newfoundland and Labrador (AECENL) offers temporary non-renewable certification to post-secondary students who are looking for summer employment in a regulated child care centre.
Post-secondary students can complete the free online post-secondary student condensed course which is available each year from mid-April until mid-August.
Upon successful completion of the course, the post-secondary students will receive temporary non-renewable Child Care Centre - Trainee Level - Preschool and School Certification, which expires the Friday after Labour Day. It should be noted that Temporary Certification for Regulated Child Care Summer Employment is not considered part of Child Care Services Certification and as such does not receive a CCS certification number.
Completion of the course and obtaining the non-renewable certification does not guarantee employment in the field – the participant is responsible for applying to child care centres for employment.
