Renewal of Child Care Services Certification

All Child Care Services (CCS) Certifications in Newfoundland and Labrador are valid for a limited period. This is set out in the Child Care Services Regulations, 39/17 2017 and Child Care Services Act

Length of the Child Care Services (CCS) Certification:

The lowest certification level you hold determines how long your CCS Certification is valid:

Trainee Level Certification (regardless of any other Levels)

Valid for 1 year.

Level One through Level Four CCS Certification (in all classifications)
Valid for 3 years. (This excludes renewals with a refresher course)

Holding Multiple Certification Levels

If you hold more than one certification level, your renewal period is based on your lowest level.

Example:
If you hold Child Care Centre – Trainee Level – Preschool and Child Care Centre – Level Three – School-Age, your renewal is based on your Trainee Level Certification.
