One of AECENL’s many roles is to provide ongoing professional learning opportunities on a continual basis. Professional learning offers several benefits to educators and is a required component of Child Care Services Certification renewal. Throughout the year, several PL opportunities can be availed of through AECENL, including:
“Continuing professional learning is essential for ECEs because it helps us stay up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and policies in our field. As ECEs, we are responsible for helping young children develop their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills, and providing them with a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment. Professional learning promotes ongoing reflection and self-assessment, helping us to identify areas for growth and improvement. It provides opportunities for collaboration and networking with peers, allowing us to share ideas and learn from one another. Through this collaboration and networking, we can build supportive professional relationships that can enhance their work and contribute to the growth and development of the field. These relationships encourage our enthusiasm and motivation for the important work that we do which lowers stress and helps us to avoid burnout.”
(ECEHR Council, 2023)
AECENL invites Early Childhood Educators and related professionals to offer ideas and feedback for professional learning topics to include in our PL Lending Library, Self-Study Series, Live Workshop Series, Self-paced Online Workshop Series, and Facilitator List.
